RELIC OF ST. TERESA OF KOLKATA (CALCUTTA) VISIT

A relic of Saint Teresa of Kolkata (Calcutta), formerly known as Mother Teresa, will visit the Cathedrals of Ireland as well as Knock Shrine this Summer, as part of a national tour. Following the tour, the relic will be given a permanent home in Ss Patrick and Colman’s Cathedral, Newry.

On Tuesday 8th August the Relic of St. Teresa of Calcutta will arrive into the Cathedral at 5 pm and will leave at 2 pm on Wednesday 9th August.  We will have Veneration and Prayer in the presence of the Relic before and after all Masses.  Blessing with the Relic will take place after all Masses. We will have Guided Hours of Prayer throughout our All Night Vigil.  Mass will be celebrated at 7.30 pm on Tuesday  and we will have our usual Morning Masses on Wednesday at 8 am and 10 am.  We invite and encourage Parish Groups/Individuals to LEAD AN HOUR OF PRAYER during this time.  A number of hours are still available, please phone the Parochial House on 9121021 for details.
