Message from Bishop McGuckian
In light of the restrictions on ALL public and private gatherings, under direction from Bishop Alan, there will be NO ACCESS to the Cathedral at this time. The Cathedral gates will remain closed, but the doors of the Cathedral as the Mother Church of the Diocese will remain open as a symbol of welcome and presence for the whole community. Everyone will understand how hard a decision this is. We are called to follow Our Lord’s injunction: “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the sacred place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly”. Mt. 6:6.
Masses and other Liturgies will continue behind closed doors and over the webcam. The Bishop and Parish Clergy form one community at the Cathedral.
